Previous Insurance Coverage In Force
To qualify for a discount with some carriers, you will be asked the date insurance coverage was in effect on the vehicle in question, or a similar replacement vehicle insured with us for a period of one year immediately preceding the start of your coverage with us. This information will require proof, but may provide significant discounts.

Declarations Page
The first page from your existing insurance policy listing:

  1. The types of coverage you have previously elected.
  2. The limit for each coverage
  3. The cost for each coverage
  4. The specified vehicles covered by the policy
  5. The types of coverage for each vehicle covered by the
    policy and other information applicable to the policy.

Deductible
The amount of each loss you agree to pay. Usually, choosing a
higher deductible will lower your premium. However, some
companies may only offer certain deductibles within certain
CC ranges. Often these policies may represent some savings over
others with more features.

Garaging Location
The ZIP Code where your vehicle is parked and or garaged when not
in use. This is usually your primary residence.

Limits
The most we will pay for a specific insurance coverage. You may
choose the limit that meets your needs. Most states have laws that
specify the minimum limits you may purchase.

Named Insured
The person in whose name the insurance policy is issued. For fiduciary
reasons, this may also need to be the person who is the borrower on
any lienholder or loss payee contract. In the instance of the primary
driver not being the named insured, the primary or additional drivers
would need to be included in the "other insured section" of the application.
Failure to list additional operators may significantly change your rate, void
your policy or both. Any attempt to withhold vital risk assessment information
for the for the purpose of reducing your premium is insurance fraud and
may be punishable fines, imprisonment or both.

Occasional Driver
The person who is not the primary or principle driver of the vehicle.

Policy Expiration Date
The date when your current insurance expires. This date can be found
on your current Declaration or ("DEC") page, insurance identification card,
or recent cancellation notice. This date is not to be confused with the
date of your next payment or the date when your renewal payment is due.

Policy Term
The length of time the policy is in force.

Primary Residence
The place where you reside for the majority of your policy term. If you
primarily use the vehicle in another state, please other storage locations
and length of time stored there


Primary Use
What your vehicle is mainly used for:

  1. To/From work, if you use your vehicle to commute to and from
    your work and/or school.
  2. Business, if your vehicle is used for one or all of the following:
    used to make sales calls, used for business trips to bank or post office,
    picking up supplies, going to different locations owned or leased
    by a partnership or corporation that have a business listed as
    an additional interest on the vehicle.
  3. Farm, if your vehicle is used primarily on a farm, ranch or orchard.
  4. Pleasure, when no other category under the "Primary Use" heading applies.
  5. Artisan, if your vehicle is operated by you in a trade or business where
    the vehicle is: owned or leased by an individual operated solely by
    the named insured or other resident relatives used to transport tools
    or other materials where such transport is incidental to the insured's
    trade or business at no more than two job sites per day, not used to
    transport explosives or flammable materials, not carrying equipment
    weighing more than 500 lbs.
  6. Artisan occupations may include but are not limited to: appliance repair,
    landscapers, blacksmiths, painters, cabinetmakers, photographers,
    carpenters, plasterers, carpet installers, radio/TV repairman, electrician,
    repairman, exterminators, pool cleaners, construction workers,
    pool maintenance, drapery installers, roofers, fence installers, tree
    trimmers, furniture repair, upholsterers, heating/ac repairman, surveyors,
    interior decorator, welders, janitorial services.

Principal Driver
The person who operates the vehicle most often.

Second Named Insured
The named insured or listed agent on a policy may request to designate any
other person listed on the policy as a
"second named insured". The second
named has the same coverage under the policy as the named insured.

SR-22
A document required as proof of financial responsibility by the court or under
state law for persons convicted of certain traffic violations.

VIN
The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on your vehicle. This number
is usually found on the registration or title. The VIN number is a combination of
letters and numbers 17 characters in length that can be used to identify the
make, model and year of your vehicle.

Anti-Theft Device
An audible anti-theft device permanently attached to the vehicle.
to receive an anti-theft discount, comprehensive and collision coverage
must be present on your policy and proof of purchase provided.
